The world of Tir is a moonless land of sorcery, banditry, and adventure. The land is poor, and the Sun is dying. Honest work earns half as much now as it did even a year ago, and putting food on the table is harder and harder. And so, having saved up all I could from last year’s pay, I arrived at the town of Newbridge looking to plumb the depths of the castle to the East. I hoped to find sturdy companions, and sharp steel, to win enough gold to make it west, and flee this cursed place once and for all.
